John Zang supports farmers. He is, however, aware of the factory farms that are changing the food system at the expense of independent producers and rural communities.
He believes that polluters, including factory farms, must be held accountable for polluting, and if necessary enact laws to create full protections from the most egregious forms of manure pollution.
Zoning tends to be a local issue. Additionally, we cannot tell a farmer who he or she can, or cannot, sell to. John Zang intends to work to make farming more profitable so selling the land for non-farm use is less advantageous.
