It is a disgrace to be last in the nation in school funding increases (according to Detroit News). In our district, schools are receiving less now, adjusted for inflation, than in 1994 when Prop A was passed. I would work to provide adequate funding for our schools and would assure that all students in Michigan get the same per-student funding. It is unfair that students in our district get far less money per student than students in other districts. I would work to stop public funding going to "for-profit" charter schools. I would work to include education professionals when developing state programs and policies.
